Lorraine PulsfordLorraine Pulsford, BA, Dip.T., Grad. Dip. Educ. Counselling, M. Soc. Sc.( Counselling Stud.) was a teacher , advisor and counsellor in secondary schools for more than 20 years in face to face and distance education settings. She taught humanities, languages, work education and coordinated work experience as well as holding various counselling and advisory roles.

She is well acquainted with the demands and expectations of the teaching profession and has a particular interest in work-life balance. As a ‘lifelong learner’, she has successfully combined working, parenting and studying to complete several degrees.

In 2001, she changed direction, retraining in TESOL and now combines teaching international students at Flinders University with her counselling practice. Since 2004, she has worked with Appropriate Measures both with private clients and special projects, including counseling students at risk of leaving school early.

Her Masters in Counselling Studies had a particular focus on Crisis Intervention and Grief Management. She is also experienced in relationship counselling, work-life balance and is a member of the ‘sandwich generation’ who have responsibility for both elderly parents and grandchildren.

Her warmth, compassion and approachability are valued by her colleagues and clients alike together with her generous nature and sense of humour.
